Snow clouds blew in today, leaving about two inches of accumulation here in North Georgia. As it began snowing, I walked outside to take a few pictures of the horses and noticed movement in front of some distant Mountain Laurels. I counted about 8 deer, but I know there were more beyond the hill. I didn’t have my telephoto lens, so I hurried back to the house, grabbed it, and quickly got back out there. Most of the group moved on while two stayed behind. I tried to move as close to them as I could without spooking them, taking photos as I went. They only stood patiently staring at me as I snapped shots less than twenty yards from them. They ended up gently walking away, unspooked. Those are great! You can really see the white tail in a few of them.
